Scissors are a tool that should be kept forever, not replaced every two years with some new mass-market version designed to be made from cheap alloys and plastic that break in the first few months as soon as you try anything more complicated than cutting paper. They were created in 1967 by a Finnish designer, and they've been in MoMA's permanent collection ever since. They're long, heavy (because of the steel construction) and designed to cut through thick denim or dense polyester with as much ease as if it were fine silk. • High Grade Tempered Stainless Steel: The blades are made from steel that has been hardened to an optimal level so they will hold a sharp edge for thousands of cycles, and will not rust or pit like lesser steels. Individually Adjustable Blade Tension - There's a screw at the pivot that can be tightened or loosened to adjust how easily the blades close. This allows you to keep the tension consistent even as the handles wear down with years of use
• Impact-Resistant PBT Handles: - The handles are made from high-density plastic which is very resistant to pressure and temperature shocks, so they will not crack or degrade. They are chemically bonded onto the steel so they won't come loose.
• Precision-Ground Blade Bevels: - Each blade has been precision ground so that it makes complete contact with its partner all along the length of the edge from pivot to tip.
